About the Programme
The IGIDR Post Doctoral Fellowship Programme aims to provide early career researchers with an opportunity to conductindependent researchin economics and related fields. The programme offers a supportive academic environment with access to state-of-the-art research facilities and opportunities for collaboration with faculty members
Programme Highlights:
Responsibilties
- Duration: -2 years (extendable based on performance)
- Fellowship Amount:Rs. 70,000 per month
- Accommodation:On-campus housing facility (subject to availabilty)
- Office Space:Oedicated workspace with computing facilit ies
- Research Support Access tolibrary,databases, computing resources, and research funding
Post Doctoral Fellows are expected to:
- Conduct high-quality independent research in their area of specialization
- Publish research findings in reputed academic journals
- Present research work at seminars and conferences
- Participate in academic activities of theinstitute
- Collaborate with faculty members on research projects
- Collaborate with fContribute to teaching activities ( imited, if required) aculty members on research projects
- Submit progress reports on research activities
Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following eligibility criter a to apply for the Post Doctoral Fellowship Programme:
- Ph.D. in Economics or related disciplines from a recognized university/institute
- Candidates who have submitted their Ph.D.thesis and are awaiting defense may also apply
- Strong academic record with evidence of research potential
- Research interests aligned with theinstitute's focus areas
- Proficiency in quantitative research methods
- Good communication and writing skills in English
Application Procedure
Interested candidates should follow these steps to apply for the Post DoctoralFellowship Programme:
- Complete the online application form available on the IGIDR website
- Submit a detailed research proposal (maximum 3000 words) outlining the research objectives, methodology, and expected outcomes
- Provide a comprehensive curriculum vitae including academic qualifications, research experience, and publications
- Submit two samples of written work {publ shed papers or working papers)
- Arrange for two letters of recommendation to be sent directly to the institute
- Provide a statement of purpose explaining your research interests and career goals
- Applcations are accepted throughout the year, but selections are typically made twice a year (May and November).
