Library

The IGIDR library is one of the leading professional research and reference libraries in the country, which plays an important role in supporting teaching, learning, and research activities at the institute. Its collection includes resources on development studies, development economics, energy and environmental studies, general economics and Indian economy. The library is fully automated using the Koha Integrated Library System (ILS) and has an Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) for easy discovery of resources that can be accessed 24×7 over the Internet. It is equipped with digital infrastructure, e-library including Wi-Fi-enabled study spaces, computer access terminals, and scanning and printing facilities.
The library has developed the Open Index Initiative (OII), an online and searchable bibliographic database for selected journals in the Indian Social Sciences. It has established contacts with over 100 national and international organizations for the exchange of the Institute’s publications and inter-library loan arrangements. The library caters to the institute’s research and teaching activities. However, it is open to other academic users for reference. Visitors are requested to bring an official letter from their librarian. For further information, please contact the Chief Librarian (pujar@igidr.ac.in).
